This is so easy to make and because it’s already marinated, you don’t need to make any additional sauces or jus to serve with it. It is also an Asian-style steak which means you can eat it with rice and Asian vegetables, such as bok choy.
Prep time 10 mins + 20 mins marinade time
Cook time 10 mins
300g steak, cut of your choice (I used scotch fillet)
30g red miso paste
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp canola oil
1/2 tsp sesame oil
Whisk together the miso paste, garlic cloves, mirin, canola oil and sesame oil in a bowl to make the marinade.
Pat steaks dry adn rub the miso mixture all over and let it marinade for at least 20 minutes, or overnight if you prefer.
Prepare the grill pan on high heat and grill according to your liking. I did about 3 minutes each side for medium rare and let it rest for a few minutes afterwards.
Serve with rice and Asian greens.
