Soy and ginger chicken strips

Soy and ginger chicken strips recipe by Yummy Calories

This soy and ginger chicken recipe is a super simple recipe that I whipped up. I usually feed my cats boiled chicken (and sometimes, raw) for dinner and tonight was no different. I was chopping it up into tiny little pieces and I decided that I would cut a few bits off for myself as well. I took a good portion, around 300g, and cut it up into strips and basically roasted it in an Asian inspired sauce.

Cook time 20 mins

Ingredients
300g chicken breast, cut into strips
2 tsp oyster sauce
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp Chinese rice wine
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
50ml water

Note: I used a roasting tray similar to this.

Preheat the oven to 180C.

Mix the oyster sauce, soy sauce, Chinese rice wine, sesame oil, and garlic. Then rub the sauce mixture all over the chicken strips.

Lay the chicken strips out on to a baking tray. Pour the remaining sauce and the water on to the chicken. The water level should cover half of the chicken so add more water if needed.

Bake for 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. Serve with rice and steamed greens, or just the greens if you’re trying to take out the carbs.
