Marmalade beer cocktail (147 calories per serve)

My fiancé and I went on a 3-day spa getaway to Daylesford and Hepburn Springs. We also managed to squeeze in degustation meals at the Lakehouse and the Argus Dining Room. We enjoyed both restaurants but preferred the Argus because of its genuine focus on the taste of the food. The Lakehouse was certainly more sophisticated and creative with the food but was probably overzealous in this and some of the dishes just weren’t very ‘yummy’ – they were just ‘interesting’.

This particular beer cocktail is inspired by the Argus’ complimentary yuzu beer concoction. I didn’t know where I could find yuzu so I substituted it with some orange/lemon flavours. It tasted pretty similar but I made mine a little bit sweeter because I like it that way. Enjoy!

Serves 2 (or 8-10 shot glasses)

Prep time 10 mins

Ingredients
1 bottle of white beer (I used Hoegaarden)
2 tsp bourbon
4 tsp marmalade
2 tsp honey
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp lemon bitters

Mix everything together and give it a good shake with some ice (careful with the fizz). If you don’t have ice, make sure your beer is chilled.

Strain and serve either in glasses or little shot glasses (like what the Argus did).
